Welcoming Week 2024

The Y’s Welcoming Week will be held September 13 – 22. During this time, visitors will receive a free one-day guest pass to explore the Y. Guests can try everything from Zumba classes, equipment and taking a dip in the pool.

In addition, the Y will waive joining fees for those who register to become a member.

Welcoming Week, an annual campaign that celebrates the work in communities to become welcoming places for all, is a chance for neighbors – both immigrants and U.S.-born residents – to get to know one another and celebrate our differences as well as all the things that unite us as a community. It’s a chance for our members to invite friends and neighbors to visit the Y and share in family fun and activities as we build a sense of belonging.

Some of the activities include:

  • Isakson/Alpharetta Family Y will be giving out samples of chocolate from Belgium, Germany and Switzerland at the front desk on Sept. 13. The giveaway is to honor International Chocolate Day.

  • Forsyth Family Y will have guests from the Post Library read stories from different cultures and countries on Sept. 16 and Sept. 18.

Throughout the week, guests will learn more about the Y’s programs and services, meet community members and discover Y facilities. Participants can visit any of the Y’s 19 locations across metro Atlanta.
