Local Impact

Since the YMCA of Metro Atlanta was founded in1858, we have built programs that foster community, address critical needs, and empower individuals to achieve their full potential. The Y remains relevant in our local community only because we continually adapt along with the ever-changing needs of our neighborhoods.

Powered by an exceptional team of dedicated staff and volunteers, The Y works each day to be a community resource, listening to neighborhoods’ unique challenges, delivering transformative programs, and living out our vision of championing communities where all people belong.

Our annual Impact Report shares stories of transformation and progress that result from this work. Take a look at the 2022 Impact Report below, or download a printable copy here.

Global Impact

Anchored in over 10,000 neighborhoods, the Y has the relationships and presence to deliver lasting personal and social change. As the nation’s leading nonprofit committed to helping people and communities learn, grow, and thrive, our contributions are far-reaching and intimate—from influencing culture during profound social change to supporting an adult learning to read.

By nurturing potential, improving health, and serving our neighbors, the Y ensures everyone can become healthier, more confident, and connected.
