Camp Activities

As you can see from the list above, there is so much to do at YMCA Camp High Harbour. Campers rotate through different activities throughout the week and get to choose some of their favorites. Camp is all about experiencing new things!

A Day In The Life...

Campers start the day with morning exercise and breakfast at 8:00 am before moving on to morning assembly, and camp activities, followed by lunch. The afternoon includes a rest period and even more fun camp activities before dinner and evening programming at the amphitheater or around the campfire. The evening ends with camp devotionals back in the cabin. There is never a dull moment at camp!

Cabin Living

YMCA Camp High Harbour features climate-controlled cabins with bunk beds and restroom facilities located within the cabins. Campers can make requests for bunk mates that are honored whenever possible. Cabins are divided by age group and gender with counselors assigned to each cabin so that campers are always accompanied by their camp leaders. Your cabin-mates become your camp family!

Dining

Kids LOVE the food at YMCA Camp High Harbour, but they love the dining entertainment even more. All meals at camp are prepared and served in the dining hall – or the occasional outside in nature picnic – and campers sit with their cabin family to enjoy fellowship at all their meals. But the programming that happens at the meals are the most fun... from dance contests to sing-a-longs, you never know what might happen and when you might catch a glimpse of Camp’s very own Superhero-Duct Tape Man!

Camp Store

There’s a camp store available for essentials you may have forgotten, like a toothbrush or deodorant. Plus, you can buy YMCA Camp High Harbour mementos like water bottles, T-shirts and stuffed animals so you’ll always remember your time at camp. And of course, there are snacks too! No cash is accepted at camp. Instead, each camper has a camp store account determined by parents before drop-off.

The Waterfront

Some of our most fun times at camp happen on the water. Both camp locations are equipped with boats driven by trained staff so that campers can experience the fun of tubing behind the boat (affectionately known as bun-busting), water-skiing and wakeboarding for campers enrolled in water-sports camp, and more. Kayaks, paddle boards, a water trampoline and the blob add to the fun of the waterfront for all campers. All campers take a swim assessment at the start of camp and wear life vests whenever they are in the water.
