Esports is Community
Esports is one of the fastest-growing activities among kids today and could lead to thousands of dollars in college scholarships - just like traditional sports! The Y is currently offering esports clubs and summer camps at select branches.
What Is Esports?
Simply put, esports is organized online gaming that includes games and tournaments just like a traditional sports league. The league is virtual – play at home but with the structure and coaching of playing at an off-site lab. The Y's esports league play consists of 4 games, two that are 1v1 and two that are 3v3. Gamers should register as individuals and they will be grouped for 3v3 games once on the league.
Is Esports Safe For My Child?
Playing esports with the Y is the safe way to play! Participants only play against other Y gamers in the league and a Y instructor is in the game with the participants at all times. Just like a coach out on the field, our trained Y staff are there to support and guide your kids as they learn the basics of esports and gain skills and confidence!
